A 587 New York Assembly · 2025 Regular Session

Permits state lottery winners to remain anonymous to the general public

Bill A 587 permits state lottery winners to remain anonymous to the general public. This bill allows individuals who win state lottery prizes to keep their name, address, and other identifying information private. To exercise this option, a winning ticket holder must provide a written request to the State Lottery Division. Upon receiving this request, the division is prohibited from publicly disclosing the winner's identity or requiring them to perform any public actions related to their prize.
