Authorizes issuance of distinctive number plates to members of the Seneca Nation of Indians

This bill authorizes New York State to issue free, distinctive license plates to members of the federally recognized Seneca Nation of Indians. It requires applicants to verify annual membership in the Seneca Nation (a historic Iroquois Confederacy tribe) and pay only the standard vehicle registration fee. The plates are intended to recognize the Nation's sovereign status and historical relationship with New York, as established by the Treaty of Canandaigua and the 1976 Southern Tier Expressway Agreement.
