Requires certain companies and corporations to report certain data regarding the gender, race and ethnicity of their employees
This bill requires corporations and limited liability companies (LLCs) already mandated to file EEO-1 reports with the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) to also submit copies of those reports to the New York State Secretary of State. The Secretary of State must then publish the demographic data - covering gender, race, and ethnicity of employees - on their official website within 90 days of receiving the report. It applies to all such businesses required to file EEO-1s under federal law, adding a state-level transparency requirement without creating new reporting obligations. The law takes effect two years after enactment.
