Designates certain emergency and public safety dispatchers and operators as first responders

This bill (A 1828) amends New York's public health law to officially include specific emergency dispatchers and operators in the legal definition of "certified first responder." It adds public safety dispatchers, emergency responders, emergency operators, emergency complaint operators, and emergency services dispatchers to the list of professionals already recognized as first responders. These roles provide critical communication support within police, sheriff's, fire, rescue, and emergency services departments.
