Imposes standards for certain examination services

This bill establishes new standards for the written examinations that individuals must pass to become licensed insurance agents or sub-licensees. It requires the state superintendent to set the times and locations for these tests and mandates that organizations contracted to administer them follow guidelines from the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, unless the superintendent adopts different rules. Applicants must pay a non-refundable fee covering the actual administrative costs of the exam, and the superintendent may accept results from previous equivalent tests instead of requiring a new one. The law applies immediately to all examinations conducted on or after its effective date.
