Permits massage therapists licensed and in good standing in another state or country to participate in certain continuing education programs
This bill allows massage therapists who are currently licensed and in good standing in other states or countries to attend specific continuing education programs in New York. Under the new rules, these out-of-state or international practitioners can participate in demonstrations of massage techniques only if they are supervised by a New York-licensed massage therapist. While attending, these therapists must follow all New York regulations and disciplinary rules, and they are treated as if they hold a local license for the duration of the program. The changes will take effect one year after the bill becomes law.
