A 1514 New York Assembly · 2023 Regular Session

Authorizes the town justice of the town of Rushford, county of Allegany, to be a nonresident of such town

This bill allows the town justice of Rushford in Allegany County to live outside the town while holding office. It changes existing rules that normally require local officials to be residents of the area they serve, but only for this specific position and location. The law also requires that the town justice must live in another town within the same county. All other town officials in the state must still be residents of their own towns unless a different law says otherwise.
