Prohibits procurement of opioid antidotes from certain entities.

This bill prohibits New Jersey state agencies from purchasing opioid antidotes, such as naloxone, from pharmaceutical companies that have settled legal claims with the state over their role in the opioid epidemic. It requires that procurement requests for these medications be sent only to manufacturers and distributors that have not been part of such settlements, including their affiliates and subsidiaries. The law allows companies that agreed to supply antidotes as part of a settlement entered into before September 1, 2024, to continue providing them until their existing obligations are met. State agencies must also use available federal funding to purchase these medications only from vendors that meet the settlement-free criteria.
