Permits public high school student-athletes to opt out of physical education during their athletic seasons.

This bill allows public high school student-athletes to substitute physical education (PE) class with a study hall during their sport's athletic season. Students participating in school-sponsored sports will count their athletic participation toward their graduation PE requirement, earning the same credits as completing PE. The bill does not apply to students not in sports, younger grades, or the required health/safety education courses. It takes effect for the 2024-2025 school year.
