Prohibits public entities from using foreign-made small, unmanned aircraft systems.

This New Jersey bill (S 2135) prohibits state and local government agencies - including cities, counties, and state departments - from using small drones made with more than 25% foreign components. It defines "foreign-made" as drones where foreign-sourced parts cost over a quarter of the total component cost, and "foreign country" as any nation outside the U.S. The law applies to all public entities using drones under 55 pounds for any purpose. The prohibition takes effect six months after enactment.
