Concerns eligibility for unemployment benefits.
What changed between versions
Restored the full student exclusion provision in subsection (i), which had been marked as deleted by P.L.2024, c.102. The reinstated text excludes full-time students from unemployment benefits for benefit years after June 30, 1984, with exceptions for individuals in division-approved training programs and those who earned sufficient wages during their base year while attending school outside of customary vacation periods.
Added a legislative STATEMENT clarifying the bill's purpose: to allow unemployment benefits when an employee leaves a job for a new offer that is rescinded through no fault of the employee, and to increase the maximum gap between leaving work and starting new work from seven days to 10 days, codifying the McClain v. Bd. of Review (2019) court decision.
