Permits certain for-profit movie theaters to sell alcoholic beverages under specified conditions.*

Removed the requirement that the facility be 'primarily for the showing of first-run motion pictures' from subsection a, broadening which theaters can qualify for the license.

Introduced a new defined term 'qualifying motion picture exhibition facility' referenced in subsections b and f, replacing prior language about premises primarily used for first-run motion pictures.

The definition of 'motion picture exhibition facility' was narrowed from 'movie theater, screening room, or other venue used primarily for first-run motion pictures' to 'permanently located commercial movie theater or similar fixed exhibition venue primarily engaged in the exhibition of first-run motion pictures to the general public for paid admission.' This excludes screening rooms and non-permanent venues.

The definition of 'first-run motion picture' was revised: removed 'exclusively and' before 'newly released,' changed to 'commercial theatrical exhibition,' removed the requirement that it be shown in a movie picture exhibition facility during its initial exhibition period, and added 'to the general public and exhibited during its initial commercial release period.'

The definition of 'licensed premises' was simplified from 'premises where a first-run motion picture is exhibited and any adjacent premises owned and operated by the licensee' to simply 'qualifying motion picture exhibition facility.'

Subsection c(2) expanded alcohol sales from only 'during the showing of first-run motion pictures' to 'scheduled motion picture exhibitions conducted at the licensed premises in connection with the operation of the qualifying motion picture exhibition facility,' allowing alcohol sales during non-first-run showings as well.

Changed the initial issuance fee from 'at least $210,000' to a fixed '$210,000,' removing the minimum-fee language and making it an exact amount.

Subsection f was rewritten to make the license strictly appurtenant to the specific facility for which it is issued, prohibiting transfer, assignment, sale, pledge, or use in connection with any other premises or business operation. Added a provision that the license immediately expires upon permanent cessation of qualifying operations.
