This New Jersey bill (A 3320) requires pet shops, grooming facilities, and pet daycares to install and maintain video cameras in areas where animals are housed, groomed, or handled - excluding staff break rooms or offices. Footage must be stored for 30 days and made available to authorities during investigations into animal cruelty, consumer fraud, or related violations. Non-compliant facilities face civil penalties of up to $500 for a first offense and $1,000 for each subsequent violation. The law takes immediate effect upon passage.
