Requires placement of portable FDA-approved anti-choking devices in schools.

This bill requires all public and nonpublic schools in New Jersey to place at least one FDA-approved portable anti-choking device in the cafeteria, school nurse’s office, and other key locations during school hours and events. The devices - which use suction to clear airway blockages during choking emergencies - must be unlocked, easily accessible, and marked with clear signage. Schools must also develop policies requiring staff training in airway management and device use, while the state will reimburse schools for related costs. The law takes effect 180 days after enactment.
