Provides CBT and GIT credits to certain food and drink establishments for purchase of certain local ingredients and products.
This bill creates tax credits for New Jersey food and drink businesses that purchase local ingredients. Restaurants and bars can claim a 10% credit (up to $10,000 annually) for buying wine or beer produced in New Jersey and offered to customers. Breweries and wineries qualify for a 10% credit (up to $10,000 annually) when purchasing from "Jersey Fresh" approved producers. Food establishments can also receive a 10% credit (up to $10,000 annually) for buying locally grown fruits, vegetables, or other ingredients used in their operations. Businesses must submit receipts, proof of local origin, and other documentation with their tax returns to claim these credits.
