This bill requires all New Jersey hospitals and birth centers to show new parents (and any adult family members present during birth) a water safety video before discharge. The video covers drowning risks in bathtubs and pools, the importance of swimming lessons and CPR, proper use of life jackets, and pool safety features like fences and drain covers. It applies to all facilities licensed to provide newborn care and becomes effective immediately. The goal is to provide new parents with critical water safety information during a key transition period.
