Allows long-term care facility employees to accrue paid sick leave.

S 2772 requires long-term care facilities (including nursing homes and assisted living centers) to provide paid sick leave to their employees. Employees will earn one hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 40 hours per year. Existing employees will be credited for sick leave accrued since March 9, 2020 (the start of the pandemic emergency), and can use it after 60 days of employment; new employees will begin accruing after 120 days. This bill expands paid sick leave coverage to workers in long-term care settings who were previously excluded under state law.
