This bill requires New Jersey Transit (NJT) to establish a five-year pilot program offering free rides on NJT's rail, light rail, and bus services to individuals already eligible for NJT's Access Link service, which provides paratransit transportation for people with disabilities. The program will automatically enroll eligible riders, include free rides for their personal assistants when traveling together, and require NJT to develop user-friendly enrollment policies to reduce barriers. NJT must train staff annually on the program and submit yearly reports to the Governor and Legislature detailing ridership, costs, customer feedback, and a final analysis in the fifth year on whether to make the program permanent.
