This bill requires all New Jersey State employees to complete training on disability law and proper interactions with people with disabilities. It mandates that the State Treasurer, with the Human Services Commissioner, develop and regularly update a training program covering the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), reasonable accommodations, and respectful communication practices. State government employers must implement this training for all employees within one year of the bill's effective date, with existing staff completing it within 180 days of implementation and new hires within 180 days of starting. Employees must submit certification of completion, which employers retain and may provide to state officials upon request.
