Boating safety courses must now include comprehensive instruction on these devices, and sellers or renters of personal watercraft must provide informational materials at the point of sale or rental. Purchasers or renters must acknowledge they've received this information, and sellers must make available Type I life jackets, the highest buoyancy type, regardless of other options.
