A 4625 New Jersey General Assembly · 2024-2025 Regular Session

Requires employers to include in job posting whether posting is for existing position and sets additional job posting requirements.

This bill requires employers to clearly state in all public job postings whether the position is for an existing role (with an estimated fill timeframe) or a new opening. Employers must remove filled postings within two weeks and notify third-party job platforms if they posted the role. It also mandates employers to provide applicants with timely written updates on hiring status after interviews, including whether they remain under consideration. The Department of Labor can audit compliance and impose civil penalties of $1,000-$5,000 per violation for non-compliance.
