This bill creates the EMT Workforce Development Partnership within New Jersey's Department of Health to train new emergency medical technicians (EMTs). It appropriates $1.5 million to cover the full cost of EMT training and certification exams for high school students (16+), college students, and community residents, provided they complete the training, pass the exam, and serve as EMTs for at least two years in their local community. Participants who do not fulfill the two-year service requirement must reimburse the training agency for the costs. The program aims to expand local EMT capacity by removing financial barriers to certification.
