It authorizes the Department to provide emergency insulin at cost to residents whose supply runs out before their next prescription, and allows pharmacists to dispense one emergency 30-day supply annually under specific conditions. Health insurance plans must cover one emergency 30-day insulin supply per year with no more than $35 in copayments, and both the Department and pharmacists must report dispensing to the prescription monitoring database to prevent duplicate distributions.
