If a caller indicates suicide risk, staff must immediately conduct a "warm hand-off" to the Suicide Prevention Hopeline without placing the caller on hold. The bill also mandates public awareness campaigns (including youth-focused materials in both English and Spanish) and requires state departments to display the hotline number online. Additionally, it creates a system to automatically transfer callers between relevant hotlines to ensure they reach appropriate support.
