Prohibits sale of milkweed plants treated with certain pesticides.

This bill prohibits the sale, offer for sale, or transportation for sale in New Jersey of milkweed plants treated with pesticides identified as harmful to monarch butterflies. The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) will work with the Department of Agriculture to establish a list of these harmful pesticides. Sellers violating the ban face a civil penalty of up to $100 per violation, with each day of continued violation counted separately.
