This bill establishes a four-year "Rent for Credit Pilot Program" administered by New Jersey's Department of Community Affairs to help low-income tenants in subsidized housing build credit. Participating landlords (who volunteer) can report tenants' rent payments to credit bureaus, allowing tenants to improve their credit scores without taking on debt.
