HB 180 New Hampshire House · 2025 Regular Session

relative to critical incident stress management teams.

This bill updates the law concerning Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) teams, which offer crisis intervention services. It expands the definition of these teams to include peer support groups organized by government units or unions of emergency response/public safety workers. The bill allows CISM teams to assist both active and retired emergency response/public safety workers and their families dealing with critical incidents or long-term debilitating stress. It revises the training requirements for team members to focus on initial training based on approved guidelines and mandates that teams register with the Commissioner of Safety. Additionally, it clarifies the designation process for team members and defines the responsibilities of a team leader.
