It allows these workers to choose their own treating physician or chiropractor when the state's official panel has fewer than 12 qualified providers in their specialty who accept new patients and can schedule appointments within 30 days. The bill also establishes a reimbursement process: if the worker or their insurer pays for treatment upfront, the employer or insurer must reimburse the full cost within 30 days (with a 2x penalty for delays).
