Changed the name of the State Guardianship Compliance Office to the State Guardianship Office and the title of the State Guardianship Compliance Officer to the State Guardianship Officer.
Expanded the State Guardianship Officer's authority to hire accountants and investigators from a fixed limit of two of each to an unlimited number, limited only by available legislative funding.
Eliminated the requirement for petition filers to notify the Director of the Department of Health and Human Services regarding the time and place of hearings if the minor receives Medicaid benefits.
Prohibited governmental entities, including courts, from charging fees to investigators for providing copies of documents needed for guardianship investigations.
Revised service of process rules to allow courts to use methods from the Nevada Rules of Civil Procedure and to waive the requirement for publication in a newspaper under certain circumstances.
