What changed between versions
Renamed 'provisional ballots' to 'conditional ballots' to better reflect their legal status when voter information is updated after registration closes.
Extended the time for county clerks to verify petition signatures from 2 to 7 working days for minor party candidates and from 4 to 9 working days for others.
Increased the deadline for recall petitions and other signature verifications, extending the window from 20 to 25 working days for statewide offices.
Moved the filing deadline for independent candidate petitions closer to the primary election, allowing submission up to 25 working days before the last filing date instead of 10.
Allowed county clerks to publish election notices on websites or social media accounts instead of requiring publication in a newspaper of general circulation.
Authorized county clerks to publish constitutional amendment texts via methods other than newspapers, such as websites or social media.
