AB 524 exempts common motor carriers providing "special services" (like event transportation between fixed points at per capita rates) from needing a short-term vehicle rental license. It requires the Nevada Transportation Authority to create rules allowing these carriers to temporarily skip certain regulations without prior approval. The bill also removes fingerprinting requirements for driver permit applicants who hold an active federal USDOT number. Finally, it repeals a requirement for the DMV to license certain motor carriers.
