Revises provisions relating to economic development. (BDR 18-670)
What changed between versions
Changed the bill's approach from establishing entirely new programs to requiring the State Treasurer to include health care within an existing tuition reimbursement program, and requiring the Governor's Office of Workforce Innovation to include health care in its existing Career Pathways Demonstration Program.
Removed the creation of a new Nevada Education and Health Care Pathways Account and the $10,000,000 appropriation, instead directing that existing accounts be used to fund the expanded programs.
Added requirements for large school districts and authorized other districts to offer a Health Care Workforce Pathway Program, similar to the existing Teacher Academy College Pathway Program.
Modified eligibility criteria to allow reimbursement for persons preparing for health care careers in addition to K-12 education, and expanded the program to include grants to hospitals for work-based learning opportunities.
Removed the original Section 1 which established the new account and Section 4 which provided the $10 million appropriation, replacing them with deletion notices.
