Interim study to review occupational regulations for elevator mechanics and elevator contractors

This Legislative Resolution (LR 281) directs the Business and Labor Committee to conduct a study examining current rules for elevator mechanics and contractors. The study will review registration requirements under the Conveyance Safety Act, specifically how these professionals must register with the State Fire Marshal. It does not change existing laws but will assess whether current regulations meet requirements set by the Occupational Board Reform Act. The committee will report findings and recommendations to the Legislature after completing the study.
