Penalties vary based on the victim's age, with the harshest punishments - including mandatory 100-year sentences without parole eligibility for victims aged 12 and younger - reserved for cases involving the youngest children. The legislation also updates existing child abuse laws to include computer-generated child pornography as a form of sexual abuse and expands the definition of sexual offenses to cover law enforcement officers whom offenders mistakenly believed to be children.
