Provide for public input on certain decisions of the attorney general

This bill requires the Montana Attorney General to provide public notice and input before the state engages in certain litigation where the state has an interest. Under the new rules, the Attorney General must publish a statement of intent at least 10 business days before filing a lawsuit, including details about the case, the state's interest, and projected costs. The Attorney General must then hold a public hearing with at least 5 days notice, consider public comments, and post a decision along with responses to comments online before proceeding. The law also requires the Attorney General to report actual litigation costs after the case concludes and includes an exception for bona fide emergencies.
