Modifies provisions relating to the Board of Police Commissioners
What changed between versions
The repeal of section 105.726 was removed from the bill, meaning this existing law will no longer be abolished by SB 1657.
The rank of officers eligible for additional compensation for overtime and court time was changed; the committee version clarifies that sergeants and above are eligible for additional compensation, whereas the original text had different restrictions.
A new requirement was added mandating that the board of police commissioners pay additional compensation to officers for any full hour worked between 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., equal to ten percent of the officer's base hourly pay.
The calculation for minimum funding requirements was adjusted to exclude litigation costs, attorney fees, settlements, and judgments, which were previously included in the original draft.
