HB 813 Missouri House · 2025 Regular Session

Establishes an income tax credit based on the number and ages of a taxpayer's dependent children

HB 813 establishes a Missouri Child Tax Credit for eligible low- and middle-income families with dependent children. It provides $7,200 annually (or $600 monthly) for each child under age 7 and $3,600 annually (or $300 monthly) for each child aged 7 to 17, with a maximum of six children per taxpayer. To qualify, taxpayers must be Missouri residents with a Missouri adjusted gross income under $75,000 (single) or $150,000 (married filing jointly), claim the child as a federal dependent, and have the child living with them in Missouri for over half the year. Taxpayers can choose to receive the credit as monthly advance payments starting in 2026 or claim it as a lump sum when filing their state tax return.
