Establishes provisions relating to summer camps

HB 1377 establishes safety and licensing requirements for summer camps operating in Missouri from May to September for children aged five or older (excluding religious camps and childcare for under-fives). It mandates that camps obtain state licensing, maintain written emergency plans covering medical and aquatic incidents, ensure 50% of counselors are trained in CPR/AED, and conduct annual inspections of aquatic equipment. All camp counselors must undergo comprehensive background checks including state/federal fingerprinting, sex offender registry searches, and child abuse registry checks. The bill also requires camps to disclose licensing status to parents and imposes fines for noncompliance starting in 2027.
