Requires the department of higher education and workforce development to develop and implement a training program on relevant rules for all governing members of colleges and universities

This bill requires the Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development to create a training program for all current and future members of college and university governing boards, as well as for presidents, chancellors, and other chief administrative officers. The training must cover relevant rules, compliance standards, and best practices, with separate programs designed for existing officials versus new appointees. Officials must complete the training within two years of their appointment or the bill's effective date, and those who fail to do so after receiving a written warning will be removed from their positions by the governor. The department is authorized to partner with third-party vendors to develop and deliver these mandatory training sessions.
