HB 2235 Missouri House · 2024 Regular Session

Provides federal Servicemember Civil Relief Act (SCRA) protections to National Guard members called to state duty

This bill extends federal Servicemember Civil Relief Act protections to Missouri National Guard members called to active state duty by the governor. It ensures that these service members, as well as Missouri employees serving in another state's National Guard on state orders, retain their reemployment rights and are protected from discrimination upon returning from duty. To support compliance, the bill requires employers to post notices informing staff of these rights and provides a legal avenue for individuals or the attorney general to sue if those rights are violated.
