Changes the laws regarding the foreign ownership of agricultural land

This bill prohibits foreign individuals and businesses from buying or acquiring any agricultural land in Missouri starting August 28, 2024. It also bans these entities from transferring land they currently own to another foreign person or business after that date. To enforce these rules, the state Department of Agriculture will review all future land transfers involving foreign parties to ensure compliance. The law does not affect foreign owners who already hold land before the deadline, nor does it invalidate existing loans or security interests tied to the property.
