SB 2884 requires medical facilities, law enforcement agencies, crime laboratories, and other entities handling sexual assault evidence kits to submit annual reports by September 1st. These reports must detail untested kits, each kit's status (including whether the assault was reported to police and reasons for delays), kits held over 30 days, and destruction reasons. The Attorney General would compile these reports into a public summary, publish it online, and share it with the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Speaker of the House.
