SB 2206 would allow Mississippi courts to reduce prison sentences for eligible felony offenders who have served significant time. It sets specific criteria: defendants must have a 10+ year sentence (indeterminate or determinate), served at least one-third of it (or 8 years for consecutive sentences), not be serving a violent crime sentence, and not be at their minimum sentence.
