Mississippi Sick and Safe Leave Act; enact.

SB 2022, the Mississippi Sick and Safe Leave Act, would require most Mississippi employers to provide employees with earned paid sick leave. Employees would accrue one hour of paid leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 40 hours per year, for medical care, family needs, domestic violence, or safety-related situations. The law would prohibit employer retaliation for using leave and mandate clear employer notice about leave policies. However, this bill died in committee on February 4, 2025, and did not become law.
