HR 6 Mississippi House · 2025 Regular Session

House Rules; amend to limit number of bills and resolutions that a House member may request and introduce.

HR 6 would limit Mississippi House members' ability to request and introduce bills by creating Rule 94A. Experienced members (with at least one full session) could request/submit up to 15 total bills/resolutions (with 5 after session start), draft 10 non-constitutional resolutions, and introduce 20 total (10 general + 10 other). New members face lower limits: 5 requests, 10 resolutions, and 15 total. Exceptions apply for appropriation bills, committee chairs, and bills requested by certain state officials or committees. The bill died in committee in April 2025 and does not affect procedural or commemorative resolutions.
