Board on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Training; require law enforcement agencies to report terminated officers to.

Requires law enforcement agencies to notify the Board within 72 hours when an officer resigns or is terminated due to disciplinary action, including providing written and email notification with explanations for disciplinary terminations.

Updates continuing education hour requirements for law enforcement officers based on years of service (8 hours for 0-2 years, 16 hours for 3-4 years, 24 hours for 5+ years after July 1, 2004).

Establishes penalties for agencies failing to report officer actions, including ineligibility for state grants, denial of continuing education reimbursement, and potential hearings before penalties are imposed.

Authorizes the Board to reimburse agencies for training expenses for chiefs and officers attending approved training programs, except as otherwise provided in Section 45-6-11(11).

Sets the effective date of the act as July 1, 2025.

Adds new subsection (11) to Section 45-6-11 specifically addressing reporting requirements, penalties, and appeal rights for agencies regarding officer resignation and termination notifications.
