Children: protection; modifications to the central registry; provide for. Amends secs. 2, 7j & 8 of 1975 PA 238 (MCL 722.622 et seq.).

Added new definitions for terms such as 'nonparent adult,' 'online reporting system,' and 'structured decision-making tool' to clarify who must report abuse and how cases are assessed.

Updated the definition of 'person responsible for a child's health or welfare' to include nonparent adults who have substantial contact with the child, broadening the group of people legally obligated to report suspected abuse.

Expanded the Central Registry to automatically include confirmed cases of methamphetamine production, in addition to sexual abuse and serious physical harm.

Changed the process for removing names from the Central Registry by adding a presumption that individuals remain a risk to children unless they can prove otherwise, and limiting removal requests to once every 10 years.

Added requirements for the Department to search children's protective services records for any history of abuse before granting employment or volunteer clearance to individuals working with children.
