Occupations: cosmetologists; shampoo services performed in a cosmetology establishment by certain cosmetology apprentices; allow. Amends sec. 1203a of 1980 PA 299 (MCL 339.1203a).

This bill allows cosmetology students and apprentices in Michigan to perform shampoo services on the public without a license, provided they meet specific training and enrollment requirements. To qualify, individuals must be enrolled in an accredited program, have completed at least 350 hours of general cosmetology instruction, and have their school provide written verification to the employer. The law also mandates that cosmetology establishments keep detailed employment records for three years and ensure a licensed cosmetologist is present while these unlicensed individuals work.
