This bill allows retired professionals to obtain a special "emeritus" license from the state department. To qualify, an applicant must prove they were previously licensed, have retired from their profession, and agree not to practice again. While this license keeps their professional status active in the system, it does not permit them to work in their field. The law also requires anyone holding this emeritus license to clearly label it as such in all public displays and written materials to avoid confusion.
