This bill requires vendors who are not already licensed insurance agents to obtain a specific limited-line license before selling portable electronics insurance policies to customers. It allows licensed vendors to have their employees sell this coverage at any location where the vendor conducts electronics transactions. Additionally, the bill mandates that the state maintain a public registry of all locations authorized to sell this type of insurance, which must be available for inspection by state officials. The legislation will only take effect if several other related bills are also passed into law.
